Oil sight glasses GN 541 are practically
indestructible, even when tightening them at very high torque. By virtue
of the high tensile strength of the material (considerably stronger than
for example Perspex) these sight glasses have been constructed with thin
walls which give improved transparency and larger sight glass area.
The large sectors of the reflector allow even high viscosity oils to flow and drain away from the sight glass. These oil sight glasses can also be mounted on pressurised oil reservoirs. The permissible pressure depends on the sight glass diameter as well as the conditions (such as temperature) under which they are used. Please note In order to prevent distortion of the sight glass a tightening torque of 3 - 12 Nm, depending on the size, must not be exceeded. On inquiry threre are exact information.
